Dodgy Fortune Tellers on Khao San Road

You will see lots of Indian Sikh men on Khao San Road (the guys with the big turbans and bushy beards) and as you walk past they will offer to read your future and also guess the name your last girlfriend or boyfriend. These guys are dodgy!

I had a chat to one and asked how long it would take and how much. He said just a bit of experimenting would take 5 minutes and it was up to me how much I paid. He said poor men, medium men and rich men all paid different amounts.

I went along to try the experiment. He took me down this dodgy laneway and sat me on this little plastic chair. There were actually quite a few of these chairs setup in the laneway and I was surprised how many western people were sitting with one these dodgy Sikh guys to have their future read.

He read my palm and told me about my life line, thought line, sex line etc. Nothing too exciting. He asked for some money at this stage and I gave him 100 Baht. He then said he could guess my ex-girlfriends name, mothers name and tell me what problem I had in my life. He said if he guessed all 3 I would have to pay his fee. He explained his fee was 3000 Baht for a poor man, 4000 Baht for medium man and 5000 Baht for a rich man. That's when I left the little experiment.
