The main town on Koh Samui is Chawang Beach, which is only 5 minutes drive from Koh Samui airport. Chawang Beach has a huge selection of hotels and beach resorts. The main part of Chawang Beach is made up of one main road which is lined with restaurants, cafes and shops selling all sorts of souvenirs, arts and crafts and clothing.

Lamai Beach Koh Samui

Lamai Beach is located around 15 minutes drive from Chawang Beach. Lamai Beach is a quieter area of Koh Samui with some really nice beach resorts which are perfect for relaxing.

There are plenty of places to take a Thai cooking class in Koh Samui. Most of these cooking classes include going to the markets in the morning to select all the ingredients and then going back to the kitchen to learn how to cook a number of different Thai dishes, then sit down to lunch to eat what you cooked.

Muay Thai (Thai boxing) is one of Thailand's National sports. Each week at Chawang Stadium you can see Muay Thai. There are often championship boxing matches between the local Koh Samui champions and champions from other regions of Thailand.
